    Web tension control in winders is the core competency of the HAEHNE company. The tension forces are captured at idler rolls with special web tension force sensors such as under pillow bloack load cells, radial force sensors or ready-to-use tension idler rolls. The acting forces are captured by strain gauges applied to double beam cantilever measuring elements within the force sensors. The bridge signals are fed into analog or digital strain gauge amplifiers where they are displayed with tension indicators or used in closed loop tension.
The web tension control products for unwinder and rewinder are available in different designs ranging from a few Newton (N) up to several KiloNewton (kN) with different protection classes up to IP67. The force sensors are also certified according to the European Community explosionproof directive ATEX.

 The radial force sensors of the BZE series work like flange bearings and measure thereby the forces acting at the roller ends. Consequently the tension force in the web can be determined.
Major fields of application are machines and equipment processing papar, textile, plastic and metal web.
They are available both in Aluminium or SST  IP67 housings.

   The web tension load cells of the series BZH-K are of a compact pillow block design and suitable for a variety of applications. The sensor is mounted in between the pillow block bearing and the machine frame.
All BZH-K load cells capture the horizontal or vertical forces of web tension. The measuring elements function according to the double beam principle. The acting forces are captured by strain gauges applied to the measuring elements. The voltage supply to the full bridge and the processing of the measuring signals is effected by way of a suitable strain gauge amplifier of the standard HAEHNE product program. The signals at the output terminals of the amplifier are proportional to the acting  force. They can be digitally displayed or used as actual values in a closed control loop.

 The force measurement bolt KMB was specifically developed to capture tension and compression forces in machines equipped with standard fork heads e.g. in conjunction with pneumatic and hydraulic cylinders.

   The compression force load cells of the DK series are characterized by their compact design. They have been specially developed for applications where large forces must be measured accurately within confined spaces. Typical applications are calenders.


 The ZAK sensors were developed for direct measurement of forces acting in cables, wires, ropes or tapes. They can best be installed in places where the design of the machine already requires the use of deflection  or guide rollers. This is e.g. the case in situation such as:
   - cable making machines
   - stranding machines
   - foil capacitor manufacturing
   - label printing machines etc...


   The portable system FCS was designed for the measurement of compression forces in confined spaces and in narrow gaps, specially for the nip forces between rolls. The special design of the sensor elements with strain gauges in full bridge circuit is the core of the the force sensor. The amplification of the measurement signal to standardized levels is accomplished with amplifiers of the Haehne product range. This enables stationary solutions with DIN rail or field enclosures, as well as portable systems e.G. PAD

 Straingage amplifiers analog, digital, or fieldbus compatible (Profibus, Interbus, CanOpen, DeviceNet). Closed loop PID controlers are also available.
